Diuretics
These are the type of agents that will increase the urination which is called the diuresis. Most of these are the agents that will decrease the reabsorption of salts like the sodium and many others like that at different sites of the nephron. This will result in the less reabsorption of the water into blood from the urine. The diuretics will increase the urine but they can also some times change the pH of the urine. There are many types of the diuretics and efficacy of the diuretics differs considerably in different types of diuretics.

There are different types of diuretics according to their mode of action, use and the chemical combination of the diuretics. There are mainly 5 types of diuretics.
